in scalar only magnitude is there n in vector direction and magnitude both is important

scalar is that quantity which needs only magnitude for its description.....and vector is that quantity which needs both magnitude and direction for its description.....another difference is that scalar quantities cannot be negative whareas vectors can be negative...
