The first and foremost difference between the two is that a student earns knowledge from the teacher in exchange of respect. Also, the student has to attend a specific number of days in school to reach to the level of a teacher.
However, the tree of learning never ends, it is not so that only the student has to learn from the teacher. The opposite is also possible.
All these factors depend on mutual understanding.
