Cached data is nothing but files, images, scripts and other media files stored on your devices by the website or app. Data is stored on your devices in a reserved space, so the next time when you are visiting the app or website, information is already available. ... You should clear cache once in a while.

Hope it helps

What's the meaning of 'cached data'?

Answer :

Cached data is information which comes from a website or an app that is stored on your computer, smartphone and tablet. This data is stored on your machine, so that the next time you go to use it, it’ll already be available. Applications that you use store information in a cache so it can be referenced later. This is cached data

For example, a mobile device may have 1 gigabyte of web browser cache. If you clear this cache, it will free space but will quickly fill up again as you browse the web.
