What's the meaning of this paragraph? In brief?
Her energetic intervention had saved many a rouble from dissipating itself in tips in some Moscow hotel, and francs and centimes clung to her instinctively under circumstances which would have driven them headlong from less sympathetic hands. Her speculations as to the market depreciation of tiger remnants were cut short by the appearance on the scene of the animal itself. As soon as it caught sight of the tethered goat it lay flat on the earth, seemingly less from a desire to take advantage of all available cover than for the purpose of snatching a short rest before commencing the grand attack.

Louisa Mebbin. had a protective attitude towards money. Just right she was protective about Mrs Pack money like an old sister. It was not for the welfare though. Miss Mebbin want to save the maximum money of Mrs Pack and wanted to extract the maximum amount of money for herself. And she didn't allow her to spend rubbles' francs and centimes ( Russian currencies) on tips and other things she deemed as less important

Being mercenary and money minded to the core, Mrs. Packeltide never let people waste money by generously giving tips. She intervened in all such situations passionately and saved money of the people whom she refers to as 'less sympathetic hands' as they were too liberal in spending money. Where as she herself being frugal in a way was more sympathetic towards it. And such acts of so-called. Favours would lead to circumstances under which she herself satisfied her free and extracted some money out of the people whose money she claimed to have saved.
