In non verbal communication head movements play a very important role. It can tell others about your approval or denial. You can tell a person whether you are agree with him or not by just movement of head.

Explanation:

In narration, head movements serve to locate referents in abstract space. A change in head posture marks switches between direct and indirect discourse, and speaker head nods function as backchannel requests to which listeners are extraordinarily sensitive.
