It is the global system of interconnected computers that uses the standard TCP or IP protocol but INTRANET is a type of network which is based on TCP or IP protocol used by an organisation , usually a corporation and accessed by organisation members and and it's employees ( i.e. it is a type of network used in a geographical boundary .)
