I grew up in the Northeast and use grammar and elementary interchangeably. As for middle school versus junior high school, it depends on which 2 or 3 grades of school are there as to which name is used. I am not sure which is which, but I think junior high is 7-9 and middle school is 6-8. Here in the Orlando area, we even have 9 grade centers where there is only one grade.
