Let the number to be added is x.

= > -1 + x = (5/7)

= > x = (5/7) + 1

= > x = (5 + 7)/7

= > x = 12/7.

Therefore, the number to be added is (12/7).

Hope this helps!

-1 +x=5/7
x=5/7+1
x=5/7+7/7. (by making denominators equal)
x=12/7
