Let the number be added be x,

x+(-2)= \frac{5}{7}

x= \frac{5}{7} + 2    {LCM = 7, Multiply 2/1 with 7 = 14/7}

x= \frac{5}{7} + \frac{14}{7}

x= \frac{19}{7}

19/7 should be added to -2 to get 5/7.
