What should be added to 2x2 + 6xy + 2y2 to obtain 8x2 – 2 y2+ 4xy?

2*2+6xy+2y2=8*2-2y2+4xy

4+6xy+4y=16-4y+4xy

4-16=4xy-4y-6xy

I am not getting the next step
