let the number added be x

3/7+x=9/2

x=9/2-3/7

x=63-6/14

x=57/14

so 57/14 must be added to 3/7 to get 9/2

Let 'x' should be added to 3/7 to get 9/2.

 \frac{3}{7}  + x =  \frac{9}{2}

x =  \frac{9}{2}  -  \frac{3}{7}  =  \frac{(7 \times 9)  -  (2 \times 3)}{14}

 =  \frac{63 - 6}{14}  =  \frac{57}{14}

therefore, 57/14 should be added to 3/7 to get 9/2.
