Let's The Added number is = X

 =  > ( \frac{ - 5}{8} ) + x = ( \frac{ - 5}{3} ) \\  =  >  \frac{ - 5}{8}  + x =  \frac{ - 5}{3}  \\  =  > x =   \frac{ - 5}{3} +  \frac{5}{8}   \\  =  > x =  \frac{(( - 5) \times 8) + (5 \times 3)}{24}  \\  =  > x =  \frac{ - 40+ 15}{24} \\  =  > x =  \frac{ - 25}{24}

So,

-25/24 should be added to (-5/8) To get (-5/3).
