➤ Answer :-

 \tt \to \dfrac{( - 7)}{8}  + ( \sf x) \tt =  \dfrac{5}{9}

To find 'x' in the following sum, we should subtract \tt\dfrac{(-7)}{8} from \tt\dfrac{5}{9}

 \sf \to(x) \tt =  \dfrac{5}{9}  -  \dfrac{( - 7)}{8}

Convert them into like fractions.......

LCM of 9 and 8 is 72.

 \tt \to \dfrac{5 \times 8}{9 \times 8}  -  \dfrac{( - 7) \times 9}{8 \times 9}

 \tt \to \dfrac{40}{72}  -  \dfrac{( - 63)}{72}  =  \dfrac{40 - ( - 63)}{72}

 \tt \to \dfrac{( - 103)}{72} = -1 \dfrac{31}{72}

\Huge\thereforeThe other number is \tt - 1 \dfrac{31}{72}
