Hello,
we have that:
P(x) = x²-5x+4
so
P(3)=3²-5(3)+4=9-15+4=-2
Since, -2 is the remainder.
Therefore, 2 must be added to P(x) So that 3 will be a zero of the polynomial.
bye :-)

First we have to divide x²- 5x +4 by x- 3.
After division the quotient =x- 2
The remainder = -2
The number to be added
=Quotient - Remainder
=x- 3 - (-2)
=x- 3 + 2
=x- 1
=3-1
=2
