Step-by-step explanation:

Given ratio is 5:11

As per given data,

(5+k):(11+k)=3:4}(5+k):(11+k)=3:4

{5+k}{11+k}={3}{4}}⟹

11+k

5+k

=

4

3

{4(5+k)=3(11+k)}⟹4(5+k)=3(11+k)

{20+4k=33+3k}⟹20+4k=33+3k

{k=13}⟹k=13

{13 should be added to 5:11 so that it becomes 3:4}∴13 should be added to 5:11 so that it becomes 3:4

Answer:

First Ratio ---- 5:11 = 5/11

Next ratio be ---- k

Sum of these ratio ---- 3:4 = 3/4

5/11+k = 3/4

(5+11k)/11 = 3/4

4(5+11k)= 3(11)

20+44k=33

44k= 33-20

44k = 11

k= 11/44

k= 1/4

therefore , 1:4 should be added to 5:11 to get 3:4

VERIFICATION:---

5/11+1/4

(20+11)44

33/44

3/4
