Answer:

-51/60

Step-by-step explanation:

let the other number be 'x'

by given information,

7/12 + x = -4/15\\\\ =>x = -4/15 - 7/12\\\\   = [(-4)(4) + (-7)(5)]/60\\\\   = (-16 - 35)/60\\\\   = -51/60

VERIFICATION

R.H.S = -4/15

L.H.S = 7/12 + x

         = 7/12 + (-51/60)

         = 35/60 - 51/60

         = (35-51)/60

         = -16/60

         = -4/15  =  R.H.S

∵ L.H.S = R.H.S

∴ x = -51/60
