firstly add 1/2 and 2/3
we get....
7/6
now by subtracting it from 7/2 we will find the answer
7/2-7/6
= 28/12
=7/3

hope it is useful.....

Let the number which must be added be x

Their sum is 7/2

An equation will be formed in order to find the other number

So,

 \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{2}{3}  + x =  \frac{7}{2}
by adding 1/2 and 2/3 in LHS,
we have,

 \frac{7}{6}  + x =  \frac{7}{2}

transposing 7/6 to RHS so that the RHS is left with x ,

we have,

x =  \frac{7}{2}  -  \frac{7}{6}

x =  \frac{ 21 - 7}{6}

x =  \frac{14}{6}
reducing 14/6 to it's simpliest form,
we have,

x =  \frac{7}{3}

So,

7/3 must be added
