Answer:

-5/6-x=31/14

x=31/14+(-5/6)

x=31/14-5/6

x=31*3/14*3-5*7/6*7

x=93/42-35/42

x=58/42

➤ Answer :-

 \tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{( - 5)}{6}  -  \sf(x) =  \tt \dfrac{( - 31)}{14}

To find the value of 'x' in the given sum, we should subtract the first value i.e, \tt\dfrac{(-5)}{6} and the answer obtained i.e, \tt\dfrac{(-31)}{14}

 \tt \longrightarrow \sf(x)  =  \tt \dfrac{( - 5)}{6}  -  \dfrac{( - 31)}{14}

Convert them into like fractions by taking the LCM of the denominators i.e, 6 and 14.

LCM of 6 and 14 is 42.

 \tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{( - 5) \times 7}{6 \times 7}  -  \dfrac{( - 31) \times 3}{14 \times 3}

 \tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{( - 35)}{42}  -  \dfrac{( - 93)}{42}  =  \dfrac{( - 35) - ( - 93)}{42}

\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{( - 35) + 93}{42}  =  \dfrac{58}{42} = \boxed{\tt 1 \dfrac{16}{42} }

\Huge\thereforeThe other rational number to be subtracted is \tt 1 \dfrac{16}{42}
