Hi,
3/4+1/3+2/5= 45+20+24/60
= 89/60

then,
according to the question:
89/60-x=1/2
89/60-1/2=59/60=x
then,59/60 should be subtracted

Let the number to be subtracted be x.

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{3}{4} +  \frac{1}{3} +  \frac{2}{5}  - x =  \frac{1}{2}

LCM = 60

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{3 * 15 + 1 * 20 + 2 * 12}{60} - x =  \frac{1}{2}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{45 + 20 + 24}{60} - x =  \frac{1}{2}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{89}{60} - x =  \frac{1}{2}

= \ \textgreater \  -x =  \frac{1}{2} -  \frac{89}{60}

= \ \textgreater \  -x =  \frac{1 * 30 - 89}{60}

= \ \textgreater \  -x =  \frac{-59}{60}

= \ \textgreater \  x =  \frac{59}{60}

Hence the answer is 59/60.

Verification:

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{3}{4} +  \frac{1}{3} +  \frac{2}{5} -  \frac{59}{60}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{3 * 15 + 1 * 20 + 2 * 12 - 59}{60}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{45 + 20 + 24 - 59}{60}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{30}{60}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{1}{2}

Hence proved.

Hope this helps!
