let the no. subtracted be x

-3/4-x=2/3

by taking LCM on l.h.s

-3-4x/4=2/3

-3-4x=2*4/3

-4x=8/3+3

By taking lcm on r.h.s

-4x=8+9/3

-4x=17/3

x=17/3*1/-4

x=17/-12

x=-17/12

What should be subtracted from -3/4 to get 2/3?

For this, we need to subtract 2/3 from -3/4.

So, -3/4 - 2/3

= -3 * 3 /4 *3 - 2 * 4 /3 * 4

= -9/12 - 8/12

= -17/12

So, -17/12 needs to be subtracted to get 2/3.

Verification:

= -3/4 - (- 17/12)

= -3/4 + 17/12

= -9/12 + 17/12

= 8/12

= 2/3
