ANSWER:

Let the no. subtracted from the given no. be x

We get a equation

- 3/4 - x = - 5/6

5/6 - 3/4 = x

➯ x = 5(2)/6(2) - 3(3)/4(3)

➯ x = 10 - 9/12

➯ x = 1/12

Hence, x = 1/12

VERIFICATION:

Substituting the value of x

➣ -3/4 - 1/12 = - 5/6

➣ - 3(3)/4(3) - 1/12 = -5/6

➣ -9/12 - 1/12 = -5/6

➣ -10/12 = - 5/6

➣ -5/6 = -5/6

LHS = RHS

Hence verified!

Hence, the required no. is 1/12
