let the unknown value be x
(-4/7)-x=3/4
-x=3/4+4/7
-x=21+16/28

Let the other number be a

According to question,

-4/7 - a = 3/4

=> a = - 4/7 - 3/4

=> a = (-16 - 21)/28

=> a = - 37 /28

Required number = - 37/28
