Let the equation which is to be subtracted be R.

Then;

(5t ² -3t + 4) - R = 2t³ - 4

5t² -3t +4 -(2t²-4) = R

5t²- 2t² - 3t + 4- 4 = R

 \huge \boxed{3t² - 3t= R}

So 3t² - 3t must be subtracted from 5t ² -3t + 4 to get 2t³ - 4
