Let the subtracted number be x

So, According to question

⇒x - ( \frac{ - 8}{15} ) =  \frac{3}{10}

⇒x +  \frac{8}{15}  =  \frac{3}{10}

⇒x =  \frac{3}{10}  -  \frac{8}{15}

⇒x =  \frac{9 - 16}{30}

⇒x =  \frac{ - 7}{10}

Verification:-

⇒x - ( \frac{ - 8}{15} ) =  \frac{3}{10}

  • Put x = -7/10

⇒  \frac{ - 7}{30}  - ( -  \frac{8}{15} ) =  \frac{3}{10}

⇒ \frac{ - 7 + 16}{30}  =  \frac{3}{10}

⇒ \frac{ 9}{30}  =  \frac{3}{10}

⇒ \frac{3}{10}  =  \frac{3}{10}

Hence number is -7/10.
