To Find :

  • What should be subtracted from a³ - 4a² + 5a-6 to obtain a² - 2a+1

Solution :

= a³ - 4a² + 5a - 6 -(a² - 2a + 1)

= a³ - 4a² + 5a - 6 - a² + 2a - 1

= a³ - 4a² - a² + 5a + 2a - 1 - 6

= a³ - 5a² + 7a - 7

So,

we should substract a³ - 5a² + 7a - 7 from a³ - 4a² + 5a - 6 to obtain a² - 2a + 1
