What should be the distance between a septic tank and a borewell?

It is always advisable to have a safe distance between the borewell and the septic tank in order to prevent any chance of contamination. In case, the situation demands that they would be in close distance of each other, then it is recommended to grout the borewell casing pipe with cement slurry until hard rock formation. In shallow aquifer zones, it is not advised to have a septic tank and borewell nearby each other.
