Myanmar gained freedom frm colonial rule in 1948 n became a democracy. But the democratic rule ended in 1962 with a military coup. In 1990 elections were held for the first time aftr almost 30 yrs.The Natonal League for Democracy, led by Aung San Suu Kyi won the election. But the military rulers refused to step down n did not recognise the elections. They put the elected pro-democracy leadres, including Suu - Kyi, under house arrest.Political activists accused of even the most trivial offences have been jailed. Any1 caught publicly airing views can b sentenced 20 yrs in prison. Due to these policies, about 6 to 10 lakh people in that country have been uprooted frm their homes n hav taken shelter elsewhere.

Answer: India is well established democratic country, where the citizens enjoy all the fundamental rights and lead a happy and free life. But in Myanmar, democracy has been destroyed and large number of people have been killed and 6 to 10 lakhs have been uprooted from their homes. So, the Government of India must use its power to influence the autocratic Government of Myanmar to give more rights to the people of Myanmar, India always supported the struggle of pro-democratic leader Aung San Suu Ki of Myanmar. But India should also maintain cordial relations with its neighboring country.
