In (ii)

15×2+1 = 31
Multiply by 2 and 1

31×2 - 3 = 58 + 1
62 - 3 = 59
59 = 59
When we double 31 and subtract 3 or add 1 with 58 then we get 59

In (i)

24×2+1 = 49
Multiply by 2 and add 1

49×2 - 3 = 94+1
98 - 3= 95
95 = 95
