Go through the examples of concise physics books thoroughly n remember the basic formula always
In equilibrium ,
By principle of moments,
Total anticlockwise moment = total clockwise moment .
This entire statement should be there always .

The first and foremost thing you can do is to learn up your theory part. Only if you are thorough with your theoretical content can you even think on progressing towards the numerical problems. Repeated reading along with small free tend notes should help you to remember most of the important points. All the important derivations must be learnt up.This type of theory is important in chapters like electromagnetism, sound, thermionic emissions, spectrum etc...
NOTE: For the ICSE Board exam explanatory questions will not be asked. Therefore do not waste your time learning up the working of AC generator, DC motor etc...
Next comes the harder part for most students, the numerical problems and practical questions. Here a thorough understanding of all the formulae and equations are a must. After you have done this, you must learn when to use these formulae. For example, whether to use 'V=2D/T' OR 'V=f*wave' length in the chapter "sound". In the board exam, for some questions, if the formula used os incorrect marks will be deducted, even if your answer is correct.
But above all, if do you not work hard good marks are impossible. sometimes your seniors may tell you that getting marks in the boards is much easier than getting marks in the school exams. Never listen to this and think that the examiners are just standing there to award you marks. So the only way to achieve good marks, not only in physics is to PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE!
I wish you all the best for your upcoming board exams. Hope you do well!
