Since , Spinal chord helps in reflex action and involuntary action like sudden movement of head , neck will get disrupted.

Involuntary action are those which we cannot control even if we want to. Our heart beat is the example of involuntary action.

And as involuntary action is control by spinal cord ,,, and if it is injured then heart beat may stop and cause death.

In case of the spinal cord injury, the signals coming from the nerves as well as the signals coming to the receptors will be disrupted. As both these signals meet in a bundle in spinal cord so there is any spinal cord injury then both these signals are disrupted.
