Thousands of African people are converted every day to Christianity and there are about 20 new religious sects or groups every month in Nigeria. More than a million Jews from all over the world follow the Sabbath and millions of Muslim pilgrims travel to Mecca every year in the Middle East. Traditional African religions shared spiritual practices.

Explanation:

  • This is explained as a part of democracy to acknowledge and respect the spiritual practices of various religions. Most of traditional African religion is animistic; people pay respect or worship to or through their ancestor’s spirits.
  • This is a belief and an attempt made by them to achieve peace. They consider herbal doctors as a mediator who would contact their ancestor’s spirits in order to bring healing and peace to someone or the world.
  • According to the traditional religions of Africa, the world of spirit is much more significant than the physical one.
