Answer

The Krishna, downstream of the Narayanpur dam in Raichur, has been in spate following heavy discharge from the Alamatti reservoir.

On Sunday night, 2.94 lakh cusecs of water was released from Narayanpur dam into the river due to increased inflow into Alamatti dam.

Villages along the banks in Deodurga, Lingsugur and Raichur taluks face no danger, but a bridge near Huvinahadagali village and the Narasimha temple at Koppar village in Deodurga taluk have been submerged.

As the bridge is under water, traffic between Raichur and Gulbarga has been disrupted. Vehicles are being diverted through Masarkal village in Deodurga taluk.

The backwaters of the Jurala project in Andhra Pradesh have been rising.

This has affected Buradipad village in Raichur taluk, and people are worried that their standing crops would be submerged if the inflow increases.

No threat

Meanwhile, the Tungabhadra, downstream of the Tungabhadra dam in Hospet, is in spate, owing to heavy discharge from the reservoir. But there is no threat to people living on the banks of the river in Gangavati taluk of Koppal district, nor in Sindhanur and Manvi taluks of Raichur district.

The district administration there has taken up precautionary measures to safeguard the lives of the people along the banks.
