What single decimal multiplier would you use to decrease by 6% followed by a 19% increase?

Decrease by 6% then increased by 19%.

To find:

Single multiplier for the both percentage.

Solution:

1) To find the single multiplier for the percentage over percentage we have the formula for it given below:

a%+b%+ab/100

2) Here one is decrease and other one is increased over it so we will consider the negative sign for decrease.

3) By applying this formula we get,

  • -6%+19%-6×19/100
  • 13%-1.14%
  • 11.86%

Hence the Single multiplier for the both percentage is +11.86%.
