Given :  A number  decrease by 6% followed by a 9% decrease?

To Find : single decimal multiplier  to represent the same

Solution:

Let say  Number  = 100N

decrease by 6%

= (6/100)100N

= 6N

Number after decrease = 100N -  6N = 94N

9% decrease

= (9/100)94N

=846N/100

= 8.46N

After Decrease final number = 94N -   8.46N

= 85.54N

=8554N/100

= 8554 * 100N/100 * 100

= 8554  * 100N/10000

= 0.8554 * 100N

0.8554 multiplier will be used to decrease by 6% followed by a 9% decrease
