Given: First decrease = 7%

Second decrease = 20%

To find: A single decimal multiplier

Solution:

To increase by 7% followed by 20%, the single

decimal multiplier will be -

= x + y + xy/100

= 7 + 20 + 20 7/100

= 27 + 140/100

= 27 + 7/5

= 135 + 7/5

= 142/5

= 28.4

Answer: The single decimal multiplier is 28.4
