Heat itself is a scalar quantity meaning doesn't really have a specific direction by itself but it flow profile can be predicted upon the determination of very important parameter called temperature gradient.
Temperature gradient is the rate of change of temperature per unit linear space. The direction of heat transfer is therefore along a positive temperature gradient. A zero temperature gradient signifies no net heat flow which is also called thermal equilibrium.
