a.Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was one of the great social reformers who stood against ignorance and narrow mindedness of the Muslims.
b. He believed that social and religious life of Muslims could only be improved by introducing modern scientific knowledge and culture.
c. He opened many schools and translated many books to Urdu.
d. In  1875, he founded The Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College, at Aligarh, which  later became the Aligarh Muslim University.
e. It became a Centre for spreading western education and knowledge.
f. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan urged towards social reforms, he was in favour of raising the status of women, removal of purdah, condemned polygamy and easy divorce.
