The invisible man (The Invisible Man is the original title in English) is a famous science fiction novel written by H. G. Wells. The work was originally published in installments in Pearson's Magazine in 1897 and as a novel the same year. The invisible man in the title is Griffin, a scientist who theorizes that if you change a person's refractive index to exactly match that of the air and your body does not absorb or reflect light, then it will not be visible. Griffin manages to carry out this process with himself, but then he can not be visible again, arriving at an unstable mental state as a result. =)
