Answer:

When he started school, he did very well—he was a creative and persistent problem-solver—but he hated the rote, disciplined style of the teachers at his Munich school, and he dropped out when he was 15. Then, when he took the entrance examination for a polytechnic school in Zurich, he flunked.

Answer:

Makers matters worse, if Einstein disliked a professor, or knew a better way of doing things, he wasn’t afraid to speak up in his own kind, rebellious manner. This impulse didn’t sit well with the authoritarian style of teaching. It also did Einstein no favors in the grade books. But alas, brilliant students clashing with teachers is as old as education itself. ... It’s not quite fair to say Einstein was a good student.  And Was he a bad student? He started school at 6 1/2 and, according to an Albert Einstein Archives biography, his early teachers did not find him especially talented even though he got high marks.
