✯ special features present or observed in inner membrane of mitochondria are crista or cristae (pl.)
adding to this, they are having elementary particles on them which are also known as oxysomes. ( these have two sub-units along with a stalk. )
✯ the advantages include:
=> increasing surface area of inner membrane.
=> increasing formation of ATP ( faster production as well ).
=> they increase cellular respiration.
