The government has taken steps to revive the Ganga. They have deployed special trash skimmers for cleaning the trash floating on the Ganga. Development of Ganga grams in which facilities like community bio-toilets, liquid waste treatment, organic farming are planned. It has also shut down many industrial units around the Ganga.
