Description of Dialogue Design
A dialogue is essentially the sequenced interaction between a system and a user. It is a formal approach followed by the users to interact with an information system. There is a certain process or sequence to be followed to design the dialogue design.
The process of designing this overall sequence must follow the steps which are stated as below,
1. Design the dialogue sequence:
The primary concern about designing dialogues isconsistency. The sequence of actions, keystrokes, terminologies etc. must be consistent. Same labels for same operations must be displayed on the same locations on all screens.
2. Build a prototype:
Just like any other system designed using prototype approach, dialogues are also designed. As users are a part of this issue, they must be involved while designing dialogues.
Ask them questions, take the answers, and evaluate those. Incorporate the ideas gathers from the questions and answers and follow the cycle until it’s completed.
3. Assess usability:
If the dialogues look good but of no use then obviously it’s a bad design. Assess the designed dialogue. If it demands, do the possible changes. Make it as much user friendly as possible.
