Take up the Science stream as you need a pass in Maths and Physics. Try scoring more than 75% aggregate because recently airlines like Vistara have set minimum requirements for applying for a job.
When you are still in 12th grade, get done with your class 2 and class 1 medicals.
Now after your 12th, you have two options. If you are from a financially stable background, find a flying school that suits your needs and join straight up and start flying. If not, then take up engineering or a good degree course that would give good payouts in the future. Once you are done with your degree course, you may join a flying school and get your CPL. So in case after your CPL you do not get a job straight away, you have a back up of earning money alternatively.
Hope this helps, for anything else, feel free to contact me.
(P.s. As of 2017, if you are not eligible for any government schemes and are going to self sponsor your course, be ready to spend at least 60–80 lakhs till the day you get a job. Aviation is a costly affair, but the payouts will be worth it)
Hope it helps..
