Jantar Mantar structure was common to Varnasi, Ujjain, Mathura, Delhi and Jaipur.

In the early 18th century, prince Jai Singh II of Jaipur made 5 Jantar Mantars in total, in Indian capital, Jaipur, Ujjain, Mathura and Varanasi; they were completed between 1724 and 1735.
