  • GIVEN:-

Rate = 10% per annum

Simple Interest = Rs. 1200

Time = 4 years

  • To Find:-

Principal.

  • SOLUTION:-

We know that the formula of Simple interest is:-

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{\huge{\frac{p\times\:r\times\:t}{100}}}}

According to the question,

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{Simple\: Interest=\huge\frac{p\times\:r\times\:t}{100}}}

Putting the values,

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{1200=\huge\frac{p\times\:10\times\:4}{100}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{1200\times\:100=40p}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{120000=40p}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{\huge\frac{120000}{40}\large=\:p}}

\large\therefore\boxed{\sf{p= Rs. \: 3000}}

  • Now let's verify it:-

Putting the value of principal,

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{Simple\: Interest=\huge\frac{p\times\:r\times\:t}{100}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{1200=\huge\frac{3000\times\:10\times\:4}{100}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{1200=\huge\frac{120000}{100}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{1200=1200}}

\large\therefore\boxed{\sf{LHS=RHS}}

\huge\blue\therefore\boxed{\sf{\blue{Principal= Rs. \: 3000}}}
