FIRST CALCULATE THE SIMPLE INTEREST LENT OUT-

P=2100

R=5%

TIME = 16 MONTHS OR 4/3 YEARS

S.I.= PRT/100= 2100×5×4/100×3

=21×5×4/3

=7×5×4

=35×4

=140 RS

NOW, S.I. = 140 RS

WE HAVE-

P=?

R=25/4%

T=2 YEARS

S.I.= 140

S.I.=PRT/100

140=P×25×2/100×4

140=P×2/4×4

140=P/2×4

140=P/8

140×8= P

1120=P

SUM LENT OUT IS R.S. 1120

Let us take unknown principle as x

Then

Si =

 \frac{prt}{100}

 = \frac{2x}{100} \times \frac{25}{4}

 \frac{x}{8}

Si 2 =

 \frac{2100 \times 5}{100} \times \frac{16}{12}

21 \times 5 \times \frac{4}{3}

7 \times 5 \times 4

140

Therefore

 \frac{x}{8} = 140

x = 140 \times 8

x = 1120
