What sum lent out at 7.5% p.a. produces the same simple interest in 3 years as

18000 lent out at 4% produces in 1 whole 1/2 years

Principal =18000

Rate= 4%

Time= 1.5 years or 3/2 years

SI = (18000* 4* 3) / 100*2

SI = Rs 1080

Again,

Let the principal be P

Rate= 7.5 % or 15/2 %

Time= 3 years

SI = (P*15*3) / 100*2

SI = 9P/40

According to the problem,

9P/40 = Rs 1080

9P = 1080*40

P = (1080*40) / 9

P= Rs 4800

The Principal is Rs 4800.
