what sum should a person invest in rs 25 shares,selling at rs 36, to obtain and income of rs 720,if the dividend declared is 12% ? also find the percentage return on his income

NV = Rs 25

MV = Rs 36

div% = 12%

income = NoS × div% × NV

720 = NoS × 12/100 × 25

Nos = 240

Investment = NoS × MV = 240 × 36 = Rs 8640

Now,

Return % = (income/investment) × 100 = (720/8640)×100 = 83.33%
