There are many surveys conducted by the British in India because we know that India was so much rich in many materials like diamond, coal, limestone, granite etc. For sending such minerals to their country they used to conduct many such surveys.

Some of the examples of surveys conducted are :
→ Survey for "Finding out all the places for mapping out them in Maps"
→ Survey for "Physical features like mountains, rivers etc."
→ Survey for "population"
→ Survey for "Number of farmers and their production per year"
→ Survey for "Crops grown per year like cotton, sugarcane etc."
→ Survey for "The cast or social class classification"
