Answer:
George Perkins Marsh (March 15, 1801 – July 23, 1882), an American diplomat and philologist, is considered by some to be America's first environmentalist and by recognizing the irreversible impact of man's actions on the earth, a precursor to the sustainability concept,[1] although "conservationist" would be more accurate. The Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Vermont takes its name, in part, from Marsh. His 1864 book Man and Nature had a great impact in many parts of the world.

The March Family members were kind and generous including Mr. March, Mrs. March and their daughters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. Mr. March had lost some money to help their relative in the past. Mrs. March was a social worker and helped anyone who was in need. Not far away from their house lived a poor woman with a newborn baby. She had six more children and they all huddled together in one bed because they had no warm clothes. They had not eaten a proper meal for days. Mrs. March suggested her daughters to give away their breakfast to the lady and her children as a Christmas present. The daughters readily accepted their mother’s wish and moved to the Mrs. Hummel’s house. They fed the hungry children of Mrs. Hummel and promised to visit her every day.
